Welcome to my professional teaching portfolio!
My name is Angie Kim and I have recently finished up my Masters in Elementary Education at University of Virginia Curry School of Education. I am passionate about teaching and leading students to become 21st century thinkers. I believe that it's important to build student-teacher relationships, and I make it a priority to make connections with my students. I am an open, flexible, and hard working person, and I try to be the best that I can be.
During the past two years, I have had opportunities to work with a wide range of students in a classroom setting. As a student intern at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Falls Church, I successfully planned lessons and implemented them in a fourth grade classroom. Furthermore, my mentor teacher provided valuable guidance on implementing effective classroom management strategies as well as incorporating technology into classrooms.
My goals are to encourage my students to become responsible, respectful, and actively engaged in learning. Consequently, I will be constantly motivating and challenging them through hands-on activities to try their personal best in an appropriate manner at all times. Everyone will learn and grow together!
